Pek Kio Community Centre

Came here for badminton court usage, there is 4 courts on the 4th floor with wooden flooring. I think the net is lower compared to other courts in newer badminton courts. The overhead lights are not glaring which is wonderful for game play. There is water cooler available on the first floor just beside the lift. Toilet is pretty clean as well.

I wanted to join a course but could not do so online & was told it was bcos the course had already started, so I went to do so at the counter. The staff was friendly but was having trouble with the equipment ( the computer was 'very slow , she was not familiar with the payment terminal...) I managed to pay for my subsequent term online (3rd Oct), only to be told (8th Oct)that would be cancelled as PA had entered a wrong fee for the course & I would be refunded. Someone called me about refund & I wanted to collect at CC since I will go there for lessons anyway. I missed that weeks lesson as i got covid. When i inquired at the counter the following week, that same elderly friendly staff was totally helpless cos another colleague was in charge of this course & she was totally ignorant. And payment took a LONG time again! A week later i asked again; she apparently had not bothered to find out how the matter was progressing. Later, someone called me to inform that the refund checque was not ready & they'll call me once it's ready. It is already Nov. PA, this is gross incompetence! The work equipment is not efficient, staff not familiar with work equipment & duties & poor ownership resulting in poor customer svc. A private business will not survive like this. Maybe u r too big & bureaucratic.

PKCC staff serviceable enough. Facilities i dont know. But every 4 yrs look forward to Workd Cup. Lively atmosphere when Melvin Yong was MP. Opening & closing matches fun & games & there was makan, esp good for migrant workers. This yr dull like anything. You dont even realise matches are being screened. & For "fun & games" you get reminders abt illegal gambling! So much for community spirit. (Yes of cos gambling is bad & wrong lah but is that all you all can come up with?)
